It Was All A Dream: šPressure at the Precipice

In the very beginning, God placed Adam and Eve in a beautiful garden šæāa place of abundance, peace, and purpose. But letās take a closer look at how they got themselves kicked out (Genesis 3).
When God asked, āWhere are you?ā (Genesis 3:9), the excuses began. Instead of taking responsibility and repenting, they hid. š¤«
š What would have happened if they had simply come clean and said, āWe messed up, Lordāplease forgive usā?
They might have been restored. They couldāve started over.
But they couldnāt imagine being placed back in the garden and starting again. That doesnāt mean God wouldnāt have done it.
š What they had done was not casualāit was covenant. They were yoked to their decision(Deuteronomy 30:19). Every choice carries weight, and every covenant creates connectionāeither to Godās promise or to the problem.
ā” But hear this: God is not just the solution. He existed before the problem ever appeared. (John 1:1) Heās not your quick fixāHeās your foundation, your Creator, your constant. Heās that and so much more than you can comprehend right now (Ephesians 3:20). āØ
š Where Did You Make Your Big Mistake?
Imagine God just dropped you right back where it all went wrong. š
š This time, choose Him.
But rememberāthereās pressure at the precipice.
Right at the brink of breakthrough for Godās glory, the enemy comes to steal it (John 10:10). š
āļø The Word That Goes Before You
The Word of God prepares you before the test ever comes. Adam and Eve werenāt aware of that truthābut we are.
When we are unaware, we must draw on the Word.
Not on the forbidden tree š³, not on the surroundings, not on the comfort of the familiarābecause all that changes, ends, dies.
But the Word of God is eternal (Isaiah 40:8). āØ
š” What you feed yourself matters. What you feed your soul determines what grows in your spirit. If you keep feeding fear, doubt, and distractionāyouāll harvest confusion. But if you feed on the Word, youāll produce wisdom, peace, and purpose (Matthew 4:4). šš
š¤ The Company You Keep
āBad company corrupts good character.ā ā 1 Corinthians 15:33
But great companyāthose rooted in the Wordāproduces godly character.
Adam and Eve already had godly character and a covenant with God. But they couldnāt keep their end of the covenant without Jesus.
So Jesus fulfilled the covenant for themāand for us. š
š 40 Days in the Wilderness
For 40 days in the wilderness, Jesus was pressing, not preaching. (Matthew 4:1ā11)
He was pressing through hunger, temptation, and silence. He wasnāt walking away from anythingāHe simply wasnāt going back to it either.
He wasnāt being tested to fail; He was being proven faithful.
š§ Forty days later, He ate again.
You will too. š½
And hereās something to think about:
If Adam and Eve had been fasting, they wouldnāt have fallen.
Because fasting kills the appetite that feeds disobedience.
The very thing that tripped them up was the thing Jesus laid down. š
Where Adam and Eve ate and fell, Jesus fasted and rose. āļø
If thereās anything you need to walk away from for goodāwalk away for Godās glory.
There is more required of you.
š Be Set Apart
Do not be distractedābecause distraction means to be dis-appointed, torn apart from your divine assignment.
Instead, be set apart (Romans 12:2). š
Donāt worry.
God is getting ready to press RESTART. š
Itās all going to make sense soonā¦
š Fix Your Focus
So maybe youāve been asking, āJesus, fix it.ā
But Heās asking back, āWhatās your fix?ā
Because sometimes, Heās not changing the situationāHeās changing your sight. š
Heās saying, āFix your eyes back on Me.ā
(2 Corinthians 4:18, Hebrews 12:2)
And notice in Genesis 2, Adam fell into a deep sleep ā and Scripture never says he woke up (Genesis 2:21).
āAre you awake yet? Are you living in Adamās dream, or are you stepping into Christās consciousness?ā
You donāt need another fixāyou need focus. A fix will keep you asleep. You need to wake up.
You do not need a patch for your pain, but a person for your purpose. āļø
Keep your eyes on Him through the pressure,
and youāll see what the precipice was really forā
your transformation, not your termination.š
If life has been feeling like a bit of a nightmare lately, know this: it was alll a dream. You can start over. All you have to do is WAKE UP.
š¬ Reflection Question:
Where are you right nowāhiding like Adam, or pressing like Jesus?
