Cycles vs. Seasons

Genesis 8:22 (NKJV)

“While the earth remains,

Seedtime and harvest,

Cold and heat,

Winter and summer,

And day and night

Shall not cease.”

There is a time for planting, and there is a time for plucking. Seedtime and harvest are seasons.

There’s a set time for it to be cold, and a set time for it to be hot. Winter and summer are seasons.

When we think of day and night, we think of the sun and the moon.

But the Lord made day and night on Day One,

And the sun and moon didn’t show up until Day Four.

That tells me — day and night aren’t just about light.

They’re set times.

Day is the time God chose to reveal His glory.

Night is the time He chose to hide it.

But either way — it’s still God’s time.

A season is a set time.

Seasons are part of life.

But a cycle is when a set of seasons is complete and a new cycle begins— with new things. Many people get stuck in cycles. That happens when a season overstays its welcome — and the new cannot come forth.

The past keeps repeating.

And some of you have been in a season that God wanted to end.

I came to prophesy today: the cycle is over.

You’ve felt powerless in this thing.

Like no matter how good it gets, it always gets bad again.

Like no matter how much progress you make, you always end up back in the same place.

But here’s the truth:

A season is something God changes.

A cycle is something you repeat.

And you go back to it — even when He’s calling you forward.

But this time, you’re not going back.

We’ve come too far.

God didn’t bring you this far to leave you.

So don’t you leave Him now.

When those old feelings rise up —

When the thoughts that ruled your old life try to speak into your new one —

You decide:“I’m not going back there.”

“I may not know everything about where I’m going…

But I know I’m not going back there.”

Tell your soul “We’re not doing that today.”

This time, you break the cycle.

This time, you trust God like you never have before.

This time —you move forward.

Holy is not what you do.

Holy is who you are.

What you do is determine by truth and whether you believed it or not. So hear me when I tell you this— the cycle is over!! 🕊️ Don’t go back to who you are not anymore.
